Shelba Jean Brown Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Shelba Jean Pack Brown, of Inez, KY, passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 79 on Wednesday, August 3, 2022. She was born in Beauty, KY on February 17, 1943, an only child to the late Harlie and Alice Muncy Pack. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Wilburt “Corky” Brown, Jenny BeDilion, (sister-in-law), Judy Clark (sister-in-law) and Terry Brown (brother-in-law). Shelba is survived by one daughter, her pride and joy, Christi Lynn Brown of Inez, KY. Special thanks to her loving family; Chester Brown(brother-in-law) Catlettsburg, KY; Kenny (nephew) and Barbara Brown, Columbus, OH; Bowie, (nephew) and Delia Clark, Inez, KY; Lisa Clark (niece), Lexington, KY; John Clark (nephew), Georgetown, KY; and Abbie Clark (great-niece) Inez, KY. To her beloved friends and caregivers who she loved dearly: Carol Sue Mills, Lovely, KY; Paddy Coleman, Debord, KY; Claudette Frederick, Turkey Creek, KY; the late Marcia Mills, Turkey Creek, KY and Community Hospice of Ashland, KY. Shelba was a 1961 graduate of Warfield High School. She had a love for sweets and chocolates as they were ever present at her many hosted UK basketball games. She enjoyed leisure time sitting on her porch enjoying the sun, while eating ice cream from the Inez Dairy Drive Inn. She enjoyed being pampered by getting manis & pedis with her treasured friends/caregivers Paddy and Claudette, which were aways followed by a good meal. Shelba, a retired U.S. Postal Service employee of 34 years, was a dedicated Postmaster in Lovely, KY beginning January 5, 1974. Mrs. Brown joined the Postal Service in 1964, working as Postal Clerk in Beauty, KY. While in the Postal Service Shelba enjoyed her involvement with the Kentucky Chapter of the National Association of Postmasters (N.A.P.U.S.), serving as Registration Chair and later as Vice-President. Mrs. Brown was a member of Turkey Creek Church of the Nazarene. Thank you to the congregation for their faithful support and prayers through her extended illness. Friends and relatives are invited to attend Shelba’s funeral service on Monday, August 8, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Callaham Funeral Home in Inez, KY, with Garrett Mills officiating. Burial will follow at the Mountain View Memory Gardens in Maher, WV. Friends may visit the funeral home on Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez, KY.
