Robert Lee Hodge 55, of Kermit, West Virginia passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at the Tug Valley ARH Regional Medical Center in South Williamson, Kentucky. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 20, 1961 to the late Mary Hodge Spaulding and William Hodge Sr. In addition to his parents; he is preceded in death by his mother in law, Susannah Preece and several aunts and uncles. Bob was a retired coal miner, a graduate of Crum High School and the most devout Ohio State Buckeye Football fan in West Virginia. He was also a member of the Kermit United Methodist Church. Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, Tammy Preece Hodge, one daughter, Crystal Stroud and husband David, one son, Robert Tyler Hodge and wife, Haley, a stepdaughter whom was raised as his own, Kacyn Horn, papaw to, Haley, Ethan and Noah Stroud and a poppy to Tycen Hodge and Kaydence Maynard. He also leaves behind, two brothers, William Hodge Jr and wife, Sharon and David Hodge, a step-sister, several step-brothers, a special cousin/sister, Connie Newsome and special nephews, Keith Hodge and Mack Lucas, niece, Maddie Sansom, sister and brother in law, Ann and David Sansom and step-daughter, Tonya and Jeff Vance along with a host of family and friends. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Dignity Home Health, nurse, Kesheia Matheny and Dr. James Kitchen for the care they provided during the past months. Until we meet again, GO BUCKS!!!! Funeral services will be held at the Kermit United Methodist Church in Kermit, West Virginia on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 1:00pm with Brad Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the Murphy Cemetery in East Kermit, West Virginia. Friends may visit at the Warfield Chapel of the Callaham Funeral Home in Warfield, Kentucky on Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 5:00-9:00pm with special services at 7:00pm. Serving as pallbearers are, Shawn Salmons, Reco Preece, Robert Ratliff, Jeff Vance, Channing Preece and Tommy Preece. Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Salmons, Johnny Brown, Byron Thornton Jr. and Greg Waller. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez, Kentucky.
