Nola Hatfield

Nola Mae Hatfield, 94, of Inez, Ky., left for heaven from Paintsville, Ky., on Friday, Nov. 30, 2018. She was born April 3, 1924, at Kimper, Ky., to Leonard and Stella Dotson Phillips. Nola was preceded in that path by her husband of 57 years, the Rev. Sonny A. Hatfield; a son, Bennett K. Hatfield; and a great-granddaughter, Abigail Foy. Nola is survived by daughters, Roma Marcum of Inez and Pat (Bill) Keck of Huntington, W.Va.; and sons, Ronald (Naomi) Hatfield of Madison, W.Va.; Stephen (Mary) Hatfield of Charleston, W.Va.; and Dennis (Trish) Hatfield of Louisa, Ky.; and one sister, Geneva (Berlin) Lell of Pilot, Va. Nola also leaves to celebrate her memory 18 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Her life was a living testimony and a life well-lived in service for Jesus Christ. Nola was a long-serving member of Trinity Freewill Baptist Church at Lovely, Ky. Sonny and Nola Hatfield worked together in churches throughout the Martin County, Pike County, and Tug Valley area. She lived for her family and spent all of her days teaching by example God’s love and mercy. The family will receive friends at the Callaham Funeral Home Chapel in Inez from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2. A celebration of her life will be there at noon Monday, Dec. 3, with the Rev. John Horn officiating. Interment will follow afterward at the John Wallace Hatfield Cemetery near McCarr, Ky. Pallbearers will include grandsons Scott Hatfield, Brad Hatfield, Jeremy Hatfield, Aaron Hatfield, Michael Lee, Ray Marcum, Sammy Litteral, and Andrew Foy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Trinity Freewill Baptist Church, P.O. Box 460, Lovely, KY.
