In the early morning hours of Saturday, April 29, 2017, Lucinda Faye Harper heard her Heavenly Father Say, “Welcome Home, hold my hand as we step through the gate. Look around you, this is your Eternal Home”. Faye was the daughter of the late Walter Pack and Lena Fairchild Dent, born in a little country town of Chanderville, Kentucky on November 24, 1926. Preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Harper, son Kenneth Paul Harper, grandsons, Jeffery Harper and Brian Duncan, granddaughters, Haley Harper and Sara Chapman, great grandson, Adam Harper, great granddaughter, Alexis Chapman and one sister, Anna Lee Murray. Cherishing her love and teachings of the Lord are her children; sons, Jimmy (Brenda), Garry (Eda), Jerry (Gloria) and Timothy Harper, daughters, Kathy (Carlos) Spaulding and Linda (Billy) Chapman. She also leaves behind 24 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was a sales representative for Mingo Stores, Caplan's, and Heilig Myers. At the time of her death, she was the oldest resident of Kermit, more importantly, she was the oldest Christian. Faye was a virtuous woman. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and the oldest member of the Kermit Freewill Baptist Church. She attending church, read and studied her Bible and done her best to care for her family and others in her community. We were blessed to receive many valuable blessings during her 90 years with us. She recited the Lord’s Prayer, Beatitudes, Ten Commandments and Books of the Bible daily. Her favorite was Psalm 139. These things she told us to keep in our hearts. Her words to us are Love one another, read and study your Bible daily and serve the Lord so we can be reunited in heaven. Funeral services will be held at the Kermit Freewill Baptist Church in Kermit, West Virginia on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at 12:00 pm with Walter Marcum officiating. Burial will follow at the Mountain View Memory Garden in Huddy, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Friends may visit at the Warfield Chapel of the Callaham Funeral Home in Warfield, Kentucky on Monday, May 1, 2017, from 6:00-9:00 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez, Kentucky.
